Tissue Healing Timelines

Your body heals on a biological timeline… not a social media timeline. ⏳
One of the hardest parts of physical therapy is helping patients understand that healing takes TIME. We wish we could magically erase pain in 2 visits — but no therapist, injection, stretch, or “quick fix” can make tissue heal faster than human biology allows.
Muscles, tendons, ligaments, cartilage, and bones all recover at different speeds. Pain may improve quickly, but that does NOT always mean the tissue is fully healed or that the underlying problem is solved.
This is why at Faith in Motion Performance Therapy we don’t base discharge solely on:
❌ “It hurts less”
❌ “I feel okay this week”
❌ “I can survive daily activities again”
Instead, we focus on:
✅ Restoring strength
✅ Improving mobility
✅ Building resilience
✅ Correcting movement patterns
✅ Gradually returning you to sports, lifting, running, work, and life
Because if rehab stops the moment pain decreases, the REAL issues often remain… and that’s when injuries keep coming back.
Our rehab timelines and recommendations are not random — they are based on tissue healing science and what gives patients the best long-term outcome, not just temporary relief.
The goal isn’t just to feel better for today.
The goal is to stay active, confident, and injury-resistant for the future. 💪
